This tongue of sand, which juts out from Testal Beach, features one of Galicia’s most important beds of cockles; clams are also cultivated here. If you visit Testal Beach at the beginning of the season, you will see un unforgettable scene: hundreds of shellfish gatherers as well as hundreds of boats populating the bed in search of the appreciated bivalve, which is then auctioned in the fish market. Noia cockles belong to the “Galicia Calidade” quality brand.
